Ecovillage Seneca Lake

neighbor is currently developing a modular building system with a construction partner to efficiently design and build in a number of apartment buildings in communities throughout the US. Built primarily of prefabricated wood components, the system is called ECOBLOCK.

The principals of the building system will follow cross-laminated timber technology, sourced from wood providers that farm sustainably. Equally important, the spatial design will emphasize space for community, access to open light and air, and Scandinavian minimalism that is as desirable as it is practical. This balance between architectural quality and the agency to deliver will make ECOBLOCK a scalable solution in neighborhoods throughout the US - and hopefully beyond!
